ACCESS RESTRICTED TO VETERINARIANS

Hip dysplasia is a common, inherited growth disease in the dog. It involves articular laxity, subluxation or incongruence of the femoral head with the acetabular roof. This may create osteoarthritis and/or severe articular deformity, and may lead to the animal’s disability.

It is one of the most common complex diseases affecting large dog breeds. It has a multifactorial nature. This means it has a poligenic inheritance, and the effect of environmental factors is crucial to the clinical course of the disease.

To increase knowledge of this pathology, Bioibérica initiates this study with the goal of carrying out research on the genetic base of this disease, as well as on the environmental factors that may contribute to its onset. With this information, it is expected to be able to achieve earlier detection of this disease, a more precise prediction of its evolution as well as more effective treatments.

If you wish to participate as a veterinarian researcher, please register and Bioiberica’s technical department will contact you in maximum 72 hours. Bioiberica will give you access to all the available information on the study. You can also call 934 904 908 (contact persons: Míriam Sellés, Alfonso Velasco and / or Lola Luque).

Register here.

If you have otherwise been contacted by Bioibérica’s technical department, please log in to access the HIPDOG STUDY, and unload any documents you need.
