In 2004 Bioiberica consolidated its leadership in joint
health.
With a 14% increase in sales compared to 2003
and very good prospects for 2005, Bioiberica closed fiscal year 2004
with great optimism.
Bioiberica's presence on new markets
such as those in Eastern Europe and South America, the launch of new
products such as Hyal-Joint and the increase in our market share in
the countries where Bioiberica has been operating for some time,
especially the pharmaceuticals market, have consolidated the
company's leadership in joint health.
Bioiberica's good
results have not only been evident in terms of sales, but also in
scientific research. In 2004, Bioiberica stepped up its efforts in
the area of R&D, hired four new people in this area and
increased its spending by 40% compared to 2003. It also continued to
be the leading researcher of chondroprotection at the clinical and
preclinical levels, with 11 articles published in the world's most
renowned scientific journals.

A positioning study reflects market perceptions of
Bioiberica.
The market survey has concluded that
Bioiberica's positioning is based on quality, science and
technology, whereas some of its competitors are positioned in
customer service and low prices.
This qualitative market
research, designed to find out about the image and positioning of
Bioiberica and its competitors, was carried out by a US
market-research firm and entailed surveying executives of companies
of the American market.
The survey involved in-depth
analysis of the attributes associated with each supplier.
Bioiberica's products were always considered to be superior to the
rest, i.e., they were "at the higher end," according to those
surveyed. Likewise, the attributes of science and technology were
considered proof of Bioiberica's leadership as a producer of active
ingredients for joint-health products. These attributes were also
seen as guarantees of the company's excellent credibility compared
with its competitors.
In summary, according to the results
of the survey, Bioiberica is perceived as a pioneering company on
the joint-health market that is associated with the highest quality
standards and scientific approach. (top)

the last two years, the market of chondroprotective Rx drugs in
Spain has grown considerably. In 2004, the number of patients with

A significant part of this growth is due to the good results
obtained by the Bioiberica Farma products, which have stimulated
sales of chondroprotective drugs since they were first launched,
thus attracting new patients to the category.
In fact,
Condro.san® (Chondroitin) is the product that has attracted the most
new patients to the chondroprotection market, with the contribution
of about 53% of all new patients since 2004.
Thus, in only
two years, Bioiberica Farma has ensured that 1 out of every 4
patients treated with chondroprotectors in Spain uses a product from
Bioiberica.

AT THE AAOS CONGRESS Bioiberica participated with its US
partner Nutramax Labs. Inc. in the congress of the American Academy
of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), held in Washington DC from 23 to 25
February 2005. The AAOS congress is the world's largest meeting of
orthopedic surgeons and allied health professionals and presents the
latest information on orthopedic treatments, advances and research.
