Chondroitin sulfate

For your pet's joint health

Joint cartilage is made up of 60/80% water, 8% glycosaminoglycans, which are responsible for maintaining the properties of cartilage, 2% chondrocytes and collagen.

What is it? What is it for?

Chondroitin sulfate is a natural glycosaminoglycan found in cartilage that, when administered orally, protects against osteoarthritis.

The mechanisms of action of chondroitin sulfate include:

  • Protective effect for cells (stabilizes membranes) and the components of cartilage.
  • Increases Proteoglycan and Hyaluronic Acid synthesis.
  • Blocks metalloprotease activity (chondrocytes).
  • Inhibition of NO: decreases apoptosis.
