The opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the CAPEX, Maintenance and Repairs category for Bioiberica, ensuring that we fully leverage our global buying power, our category strategies and that contracts are fully implemented while meeting the specific requirements of each Business Unit. At the same time, you will work closely with the Global Category Manager for CAPEX, Maintenance and Repairs, the Procurement Manager and other Global Category Managers to implement tools, standards, policies and processes.

You will report directly to Head of Procurement at Bioiberica, with functional reporting to the Global Category Manager for CAPEX, Maintenance and Repairs, and will work closely with other Category and Procurement Managers from the different business units spread across five continents, leveraging the strengths of each to achieve collective success.

Key responsibilities
  • Implement a procurement and contracting approach aligned with the requirements of key stakeholders.
  • Implement the category strategy in line with global strategies, including guidelines, processes and policies according to the specific requirements of each Business Unit.
  • Implement appropriate strategies to ensure secure and cost-effective sourcing, with a thorough understanding of suppliers, sub-suppliers, market dynamics, fundamentals and key factors.
  • Ensure that commercial conditions with our suppliers are the most competitive and they are fully leveraged by all relevant Business Units.
  • Support local teams in the successful execution of the global strategy, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, strong negotiation skills, supplier relationship management and developing procurement team category knowledge.
  • Together with the Global Category Manager, create and implement a robust reporting structure to manage category performance and compliance.
  • Be responsible for identifying and driving procurement and contracting projects, ensuring that they are implemented and followed up by the Business Units.
  •  Material Classification management, ensuring timely assessment of new material/equipment sources, while managing risk to clients and wider business relationships.
  • Responsible for the ongoing management of supplier relationships within your category, including setting expectations, monitoring, review, continuous improvement and influencing supplier investment, technology development and use of supplier resources that directly benefit Bioiberica in innovation and cost savings.
     
About you
  • University degree in an appropriate field, complemented by postgraduate training or professional certification, e.g. CIPS.
  • 4-5 years experience in strategic category management within the scope of Capex, Maintenance and Repairs, preferably with presence in multiple countries.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with significant influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in direct and indirect procurement, including sourcing strategy, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, contract implementation and compliance management.
