Specialists in biomolecules
VICTAM Asia is a key event for everyone involved in animal feed processing, as well as in the ingredient, additive and seed processing, aquaculture feed and pet food industries in Asia. During the conference, on 27 March, the leading event for the aquaculture nutrition sector, Aquafeed Horizons Asia, will be held.
Aquafeed Horizons Asia is attended by world renowned experts in the processing and formulation of aquaculture feeds. One of these experts is Dr. Francisco J. González, who holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid and is area manager at Bioiberica. Dr. González will deliver a lecture on the role of nucleotides and bioactive peptides as boosters of aquaculture feeds. The lecture will take place in rooms 211/212 of BITEC, the 27th March at 16:00 hours.
The beneficial effects of nucleotides and bioactive peptides (hydrolized protein) have been demonstrated in a number of field trials in shrimp, salmon, tilapia, sea bass, sea bream, and other species.
The studies that Bioiberica will present in this lecture focus on the evaluation of the effects of bioactive peptides on growth, nutrient utilization, digestibility, gut health and quality, in rainbow trout. They will also present data on the effects of dietary nucleotides on Whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) affected by AHPND (Acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease).
In the words of Francisco J. González, the findings of these studies are the answer “to the need of new tools and mechanisms with which to boost the growth of the aquiculture industry”.
Nucleotides and bioactive peptides are ingredients which are found, respectively, in Bioiberica’s Nucleoforce and Palbio ranges of products. These are ingredients developed with the aim of using intelligent nutrition to improve the animals’ immune and digestive health, as well as productive parameters in aquiculture and livestock farming.
