About the Role

Working for a successful group of businesses, active in the food & pharma industries you will oversee the Maintenance, Repair & Capex category for Devro, Van Hessen, and Bioiberica which make up SARIA Food & Pharma globally. Within this new department you will be responsible to take the lead to set up and maintain Global Category Management. In this role you will ensure we fully utilise our global buying power and category strategies, and contracts are completely implemented while ensure we meet all Business Unit specific requirements. While you are setting up Global Category Management for your responsible category in parallel you will work closely with the Head of Procurement and other Global Category Managers to develop and implement Global Category Management, tools, standards, policies, and processes.

Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement Food and Pharma, you will collaborate closely with the other Global Category Managers and the Procurement Managers from the other business units that are divided over 5 different continents, leveraging each other's strengths to drive collective success.

 

Responsibilities

  • Development of a clearly defined global sourcing and contracting approach which aligns with the requirements of key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring we conduct business according to the most competitive condition with our suppliers and that those conditions are fully utilised by all relevant Business Unit.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining of a ‘One SARIA Food & Pharma Global Category Strategy" including standards guidelines, processes and policies that are in line with Business Unit specific requirements.
  • Motivate and coach local teams to successfully execute the global strategy, driving a culture of positivity through continuous improvement, solid negotiation capabilities, Supplier Relations Management and development of Procurement team category knowledge.
  • Development and implementation of appropriate Global Category Strategy that cost effectively ensures security of supply. Provide a thorough understanding of the supplier, their suppliers, the market dynamics, fundamentals and drivers.
  • Together with the Heads of Procurement create and implement a robust reporting structure at Business Unit and Divisional level to manage the Category performance and compliancy.
  • Responsible to indicate and drive Global Sourcing and Contracting projects and ensure they are implemented and followed by the Business Units.
  • Material Qualification, which ensures assessment of appropriate new material/equipment sources in a timely manner while managing the risk to Customers and wider business relationships.
  • • Accountable for ongoing supplier relationship management within your category, including expectation setting, monitoring, review, continuous improvement and influence supplier investment, technology development and use of supplier resources to directly benefit SARIA Food & Pharma in innovation and cost savings.

 

About You

  • Degree qualified in an appropriate field, complimented by a postgraduate or professional qualification such as CIPS.
  • Demonstrable experience of Strategic Category Management within your responsible category and across multiple countries is advantageous
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop teams that are remote, and matrix managed.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management, with significant influencing and negotiation skills
  • Direct and indirect procurement, including sourcing strategy, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, contract implementation and compliance management.
