  • Tendinopathies are one of the leading causes of injuries in sportspersons
  • Tendoactive has proved to be efficient and safe in the treatment of tendinopathies, reducing pain and improving functional capability

This Friday, March 6th, at 13:00 hours, Dr. Fernando Jiménez, a specialist in sports medicine and a teacher in the physical and sports education area at the Physical Activities and Sports Sciences of the UCAM, will present the latest Tendoactive clinical study, “Efficacy of a type I collagen, C vitamin and mucopolysaccharide -based nutritional supplement, in combination with physical therapy, in the treatment of Achilles tendinopathy”.

According to this clinical study, the supplementation with Tendoactive is associated with clinical and structural improvements in the recovery from tendinopathies, one of the most recurrent injuries among sportspersons - causing between 35 to 50 percent of all injuries. The daily consumption of Tendoactive has been proved to offer additional benefits for the improvement of chronic, non-insertional Achilles tendonitis.

This treatment is especially designed for the early stages of these types of injury. The efficient and safe management of tendinopathies during this stage may prevent future reoccurrence or poor evolution of the injury that could result in a chronic degenerative injury.

The prevention and treatment of tendon injuries will be one of the central themes of the 2nd International Symposium on Prevention of Sports Injuries and the 23rd National Symposium on Sports Trauma that will be held together on 5-7 March at the Jeronimos Monastery, Murcia.

Noted medicine and sports trauma professionals will attend these two symposia to discuss the latest trends in their fields. This meeting will be hosted thanks to a joint collaboration between the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) and the Association of Sports Medicine of Murcia.
