Chondroitin sulfate

For the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis and of joint discomfort
What is it?

Chondroitin sulfate is a glycosoaminoglycan sulfate composed of a disaccharide chain of N-acetylgalactosamine and N-glucuronic acid, alternately.

This is an important component in most tissues in vertebrates and invertebrates and is principally present in those which have a large extracellular matrix, such as those which form the body's connective tissue: cartilage, skin, blood vessels, as well as the ligaments and tendons.

It is obtained by extracting raw biological material.

Efficacy

In degenerative joint diseases, such as osteoarthritis, deterioration and loss of the joint cartilage occurs. A key phase in osteoarthritis is the loss of proteoglycans and collagen degradation due to poor mechanical functioning.

Chondroitin is considered to be a Symptomatic Slow Acting Drug for Osteoarthritis (SYSADOA), and is currently recommended by national and international therapeutic guidelines.

Numerous clinical trials demonstrate that it reduces joint pain and increases mobility.

Bioiberica also offers nutraceutical quality chondroitin which is predominantly used as a main ingredient in veterinary and nutraceutical formulations sulfate.
