What is heparin lithium?
Lithium heparin is the most commonly recommended form of the anticoagulant to be used in biochemistry and chemical measurement, thanks to its low interference level with tests for other ions.
With its minimal chelating properties, minimal interference with water, and relatively low cation concentration, lithium heparin is widely used in the testing of blood pH, gas and electrolytes levels, as well as the presence of ionized calcium. It is, however, unsuitable for the measurement of lithium in the blood.
Although all heparin salts provide comparable results, lithium heparin has been shown to be particularly accurate in the evaluation of electrolytes.

Storage and packing
Storage and handling conditions
Our heparin lithium product does not require special storage conditions, however we recommend that it be kept in a cool, dry place, preferably at temperatures below 40ºC.
Handling instructions
Wear a dust mask, gloves and safety goggles.
Packaging
The API is sold as a white powder, triple-packed in polyethylene bags and sealed with a polyamide cable tie for drums and cans.
It is available in the following containers according to quantity and customer specifications:
Drums of 60L, 30L and 2L, 100ml and 15ml vials.
The weight limit of our drums is 20 kg net.
All the containers are fitted with security seals to prevent any potential tampering.
